About IGCSE English
Cambridge IGCSE English offers two distinct but complementary qualifications — English Language and English Literature — both of which develop essential communication and analytical skills that underpin success across all subjects and future careers.
English Language develops learners’ ability to read, interpret, and respond to a wide range of texts, and to write accurately, effectively, and creatively for different audiences and purposes. English Literature encourages a love of reading and develops the ability to respond to prose, poetry, and drama with insight, personal interpretation, and well-supported literary argument. Together, these qualifications build the skills of critical thinking, clear expression, and confident communication that are essential for Cambridge A Level and all walks of life.
